Eyes

MK is always talking. Always. She is talking the moment she wakes up, she is talking when she dresses, when she eats, when she is doing crafts, in the car, in the bed, always talking. Or singing. She never lets a moment slip by for everyone to hear her voice. That is, as long as she is awake, she is mouth wide open at all times - you get the picture. Today it was just the two of us in the car. We had one errand to run and it was around nap time. On our way home I noticed that it was quiet. Too quiet. I suddenly turned back which startled an almost asleep MK. With her eyes half opened, MK said, "Mommy, what?" I said, "Oh, for a moment I thought you had gone to sleep. It is quiet in the car." Sleepily she said, "Actually, my eyes were broken. I am not tired."

MK's Prayer

We take turns saying the prayer at dinner. Tonight was MK's turn. She prayed, "Dear God, thank you for today and my family. Please be with baby Maddox and please be with us when we travel to get her. Take care of her. And please, God, please be with G-Mom and help her freckles to heal. Amen."

(MK was praying for G-Mom's ankles to heal :) )

Happy New Year Take Two!

Our New Year has started off with a cautious bang. Love the pic below, MK has her bunny safety blanket in hand for the uncertainties that are sure to come!
We were thrilled on New Years Day, amongst the chaos of moving and building in our home, to find a ladybug. During the adoption of Maddox, we have frequently spotted ladybugs at the most unsuspecting times. New Years Day was no exception and we were all encouraged to see this little critter - a sign of hope and joy to come!
New Year's Eve, I snapped pictures of the kiddos. Individual ones, which are really a rarity. Love this of Colin. His spirit shines in this pic and it pretty much sums up his personality of willing to try anything, within reason of course, and his smile is radiant....a characteristic that he has always held on to.
And Pryce. One just has to love this guy. His heart is held on his sleeve and he lights up any room when he enters. Always.
Oh MK, how you have come out of your shell and grown leaps and bounds in the almost three years since we first met you! This year will hold many great things for you!

And, imagine our surprise Tuesday evening when we received the photos below of little Maddox. She looks healthy and dainty and quite perplexed about the cake that is in front of her - imagine the day (and the look) when she meets us and realizes what her life holds in front of her!
Learning to embrace....that is going to be our theme for 2011, Embrace. 2011 brings with it 13 years of marriage for us, as well as our fourth and final child, the rest of will be icing on the cake! Cheers!
